Glock Armorer’s Half Slide Cover Plate for All Gen1-5 Glocks (Does Not Fit 43/43X/48 or Gen6) This Glock Armorer Part is 2/3 the original size of the standard cover plate; designed specifically to allow you to check the engagement of your Trigger Bar and Firing Pin Lug without a complete disassembly. This is a great tool to use while tuning a FRT kit! Do not have this back plate installed while using live ammunition. Using live ammunition while having this backplate installed could result in catastrophic failure….. So just don’t do it! What an Armorer’s Plate Actually Does An armorer’s plate (sometimes called an armorer’s backplate) replaces the factory slide backplate during disassembly. Its purpose is simple and critical: Provides direct visual confirmation of striker, spacer sleeve, and spring alignment Prevents blind reassembly of internal slide components Allows verification of correct striker engagement and reset behavior Reduces the risk of damaged parts, inconsistent pull weight, or unsafe function Without an armorer’s plate, the installer is effectively working blind inside the striker channel—hoping everything seats correctly instead of confirming that it did.
