CTEC Conventional Heat Detector CTEC Conventional Heat Detector is a heat-sensing device designed for use with conventional fire alarm systems. Unlike smoke detectors, heat detectors respond to changes in temperature and are ideal for environments where smoke detection might not be suitable (e.g., kitchens, garages, or areas with high dust levels). C-TEC Conventional Heat Detector features; Heat Sensing Technology Two types of heat detection modes are available: Rate-of-Rise (ROR): Detects a rapid increase in temperature, which typically indicates a fire. Fixed Temperature: Activates when the ambient temperature exceeds a pre-set threshold (usually 57°C or 135°F). Compatibility Compatible with conventional fire alarm control panels, such as the C-TEC CFP series or other standard conventional systems. Available in two-wire and four-wire configurations depending on the system requirements. LED Indicator Features a red LED indicator that provides visual feedback on the detector’s status. The LED blinks periodically to indicate normal operation (standby mode) and remains steadily illuminated when in an alarm state. Low-Profile and Robust Design The detector has a low-profile, aesthetically pleasing design, suitable for both commercial and residential settings. Designed for easy installation with a universal base that simplifies mounting and wiring. Installation Flexibility Can be mounted on ceilings or high on walls, depending on the area being protected. Works well in environments where smoke detectors may give false alarms, such as kitchens, boiler rooms, laundries, and garages. Alarm Signal and Circuit Monitoring Provides an alarm signal to the fire alarm control panel upon detecting a fire condition. The detector’s circuit is monitored for open or short circuits to ensure continuous operation. An End-of-Line (EOL) resistor is required for proper circuit supervision. Easy Installation and Maintenance The base-mounted design allows for quick installation and easy removal of the detector head for maintenance and testing. Regular cleaning and testing are recommended to ensure optimal performance.
