Max OD of 80mm means they will fit most desktop label printers (including TSC, Honeywell, Datamax, Zebra, Sato, Toshiba and more). Thermal transfer labels have a longer lasting print, compared with direct thermal labels. They need an ink ribbon in order to print. THERMAL  PRINTING METHODS There are two thermal printing methods: Direct Thermal and Thermal Transfer. Direct Thermal / Thermal Direct Direct thermal printing uses heat-sensitive media that blackens when it passes under the thermal printhead, while thermal transfer printing uses a heated ribbon to produce durable, long-lasting images. Direct thermal printing is ideal for applications requiring only a short shelf life and is simple to operate with low long-term maintenance costs, but it is not well suited for environments that expose labels to heat, long periods of direct sunlight, or abrasion. Direct thermal printers are typically built more durably than dot matrix or laser printers, allowing reliable operation in industrial as well as office applications. Thermal Transfer Thermal transfer printing is a more durable option that uses a ribbon roll to melt ink onto the label and create a long-lasting image. This technology provides consistent, reliable printing on every label and is suitable for a wide range of applications. Thermal transfer printing delivers crisp, high-definition text, graphic and barcode print quality and enables batch or single label printing with virtually no waste. It’s important that the ribbon and media substrate (i.e. labels) must be compatible for optimum print quality. Many thermal printers can print both direct thermal and thermal transfer methods. However, some printers can only print using direct thermal method and not thermal transfer. Accurate Labelling supply the highest quality printer brands including Zebra, Honeywell, TSC and Epson.
