Description Highly durable labels suitable for asset tags or where they will be exposed to the elements. Blank white Matt Synthetic (PP) thermal transfer labels for use with thermal transfer ribbon. Max OD of 130mm means they will fit most industrial label printers (including TSC, Honeywell, Datamax, Zebra, Sato, Toshiba and more). These labels are not perforated. This label stock is British standard BS5609 Section 2 and Section 3 (see below): BS5609 is a recognized standard for self-adhesive labels for marine use. The purpose is to ensure that dangerous goods transported by sea are durably labelled and identified and include surviving immersion at sea. BS5609 Section 2 Details the requirements for pressure sensitive adhesive laminates and rates their performance in terms of dimensional stability, adhesion, artificial weathering, temperature cycling and colour fastness together with exposure to marine conditions for three months. Section 2 approved for marine immersion, when used with our certified resin ribbon (contact us if you are would like to order this ribbon). BS5609 Section 3 Contains the performance requirements for printed pressure sensitive adhesive labels. The printed labels in Section 3 are thoroughly tested for print permanence, abrasion resistance and the effects of different weather conditions such as sand, salt spray and light. Disclaimer: It is the responsibility of the label printer to ensure that the printed labels comply with section 2 and section 3 of BS5609. To ensure a long-lasting print we recommend using in combination with a high-quality pure Resin thermal transfer ribbon (see our core ribbon grades here) Thermal transfer labels have a longer lasting print, compared with direct thermal labels. They need an ink ribbon in order to print. Direct thermal labels use heat-sensitive material that darken to form barcodes, graphics and printed text when heat is applied by the printer’s print head.
